Two award-winning Somerville condos in the Spring Hill area have just sold after a masterful renovation.

Developer Al Peterson and architect Djuna Vicinic of Reisen Design have collaborated on a number of special projects over the years including these fantastic condos sold by Robert Paul’s Louise Olson and Scott Kistenberger.

The condos were enlarged which expanded the square footage of both units, as well as adding  extra storage in the basement. The revised layout, along with the complete gut-rehab and new construction components of the house offered very bright, open living-dining areas, as well as larger than average bedrooms.

“The quality of the workmanship, design elements, extra attention to details such as extra Somerville condossound mitigation between the two units led to a great balance of open and private areas,” noted Olson.

What also helped the sales was a prime location. The neighborhood is already very sought after, being so close to the Porter Square shopping area and Redline T stop in Cambridge.

Maintaining Historic Details

Despite the many changes, the developer was noted for their ability to incorporate original elements. For that they were awarded the Director’s Award from the Somerville Historic Preservation Committee.

“Al was able to preserve some of the architectural details that other developers might not bother with. We received positive feedback from both neighbors, passers-by and the buyers in the marketplace,” added Olson.
