June is a great month to welcome in the start of summer! Check out a sampling of great June events happening across Greater Boston, Cape Cod and the South Coast!
June 8th | Boston Dragon Boat Festival
Since 1979 the Annual Boston Dragon Boat Festival has been a great way to spend a summer weekend on the Charles River. The two-day event is dedicated to the death of the Chinese poet and patriot Qu Yuan. It grew from a small neighborhood event into the area’s largest water festival of its kind, attended by over 20,000 spectators each year.
June 13 | AHA! Pride Block Party
Are you ready to show your PRIDE? AHA! presents an unforgettable block party in Customs House Square with art, music, and community. Family friendly activities, vendors, and all the Drag Queens they can pack onto one stage is sure to delight all! MC for the party is Captain Gayhab, with special guest speaker, Stonewall Veteran, David Velasco Bermudez! Our community partners will be out on the block, plus Rainbow Bingo, and performances by 3rd Eye Unlimited’s Crew.
June 18 | Dogs on Deck
Bring your dog to Fenway Park! Dogs on Deck: A Barktail Party is a fundraiser for the MSPCA-Angell being held on the First Base Deck at Fenway Park on June 18. Come enjoy tasty treats and beverages (for both humans and dogs), along with a raffle, DJ, photo booth and of course- furry friends! All to support the MSPCA’s mission to protect animals.
June 23 | WCOD Cape Cod Chowder Festival
A Cape Cod tradition continues with WCOD cooking up its annual “Chowder Fest” at the Melody Tent. It’s the recipe for a perfect day of sampling chowder from many of the Cape’s best restaurants, all competing for the coveted “WCOD Chowder Bowl.” Bring the family and spend the afternoon savoring the “souper” seaside flavor of quintessential Cape Cod, while listening to some of the best bands on the Cape.
