Robert Paul Properties is proud to continue its support of the Cahoon Museum of American Art as a “gold level” business partner and encourages all to join in support for one of America’s treasured museums devoted to American Art that is located here on Cape Cod in Cotuit, Massachusetts.
The museum’s building itself is historic, originally built in 1775 by the Crocker family; it once served as a tavern and way station for travelers on the Hyannis-Sandwich stagecoach line. In 1945 Ralph Cahoon and Martha Cahoon bought the house and became the most famous folk artists Cape Cod has ever produced.
The stately, Georgian colonial farmhouse now is home for a treasured collection of the folk paintings of the Cahoons, as well as a choice collection of 19th-century, 20th-century and contemporary American art. Highlights include folk portraits, maritime paintings, and landscapes. In addition, the museum has developed a fine reputation for presenting a lively schedule of changing exhibitions devoted to many aspects of American art.
Visit http://www.cahoonmuseum.org for their current and upcoming exhibition schedule – this year’s theme is “Journeys: Emotional, Physical and Spiritual”. There are also information about the museum’s educational art workshops for adults, “get smART” classes for children, lecture series, and a variety of special events throughout the year. Cahoon Museum of American Art is located on 4676 Falmouth Road (Route 28) in Cotuit, MA.
