Beginning tomorrow, many of our best athletes will convene in exotic Rio de Janeiro to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games. We’re all very excited to tune in and watch as over 200 nations go for gold. This got many of us thinking about our favorite places to watch games with a fun-loving crowd, so we thought what better time than now to share them with you! No matter the season, from Boston and Cambridge to Cape Cod and the South Coast, here are our top 10 sports bars.
Boston Beer Works
With several locations in and around Boston proper, this brew pub is most well-known for its unique and locally inspired beer selection. Their BW Trademark menu changes periodically, but today we can find a “Bunker Hill Blueberry” and a “Back Bay IPA”. Ask for as many samples as you want before making a commitment, and be sure to check out their up-scale pub food menu. Their location on Canal Street is perfect to gather around a flat screen with friends and colleagues to watch sports and talk business.

Five Horses Tavern
Described as “…being built on craft beer” this eclectic local hotspot sure lives up to the hype. Rotating craft brews, cask ales, and local ciders headline the menu, and some seriously funky cocktails finish it off. The food is worldly, ranging from Pork Belly Tacos to a new-age Shakshuka, there is something for everyone. There are two locations: one in the heart of Davis Square on Highland Avenue, and one tucked away in the South End. Both locations boast enormous flat screen televisions for our viewing pleasure.

The Rising
New on the scene and fast becoming an Inman Square neighborhood favorite, The Rising is as well known for its excellent food as its great sports crowds and quality beverage list. With ten TV’s – one of which is an eye-popping 100” – you can rest assured that no matter where you are in the pub, you can always see your favorite team on the screen. If you’re really lucky and your team is playing early on the weekend, you should absolutely stop in for an ovation-worthy brunch. It’s not to be missed.
