First settled in 1664 and incorporated in in 1712, Chatham’s founding days centered around shipping, whaling, and fishing, and many of its historic buildings reflect that era. Situated beautifully on the elbow of Cape Cod, surrounded by open waters, Chatham’s popularity as a vacation destination began to grow in the late 1800’s helping it become the beautiful summer town it is today. With beautiful beaches, wonderful restaurants, and local shops, Chatham’s quaint and charming small-town appeal helps it remain a cornerstone of Classic Cape Cod.
