Q. Louise, you have had an exceptional career for over 30 years in Cambridge, Somerville and the surrounding areas. What are the highlights?
A. There are so many. For me, a true highlight is when I can help clients with complicated life plans and navigate them through a transition safely and successfully. Another highlight is working side by side with my clients as a team to accomplish their goals. I love working in a diverse community and of course, match making. Finally, I really have enjoyed representing developers and being part of the process of bringing a project to life from concept to closure.
Q. In 1998 you ran into your high school sweetheart, Scott Kistenberger, on Long Island and two years later you married. Scott is now also your business partner in real estate. How has that worked for you?
A. Our partnership works really well. We both bring different strengths to our business and we also love spending time together – making up for lost time! We’ve developed many friendships through our work, and we both share a calm, attentive and diligent approach to sales which our clients really appreciate.
Q. With all your success and hard work – and you are well known for both – what do you do when you’re not doing real estate?
A. I’m working on a novel and have been part of a long standing and supportive writing group. I love community work and belong to the Cambridge Rotary and I am on the board of the Salvation Army where my focus is supporting Our Place, a daycare for homeless children. As a founding board member of CCR, we also underwrite CHAF. And when we can, we escape to our peaceful home on Martha’s Vineyard.
Q. What are your favorite pastimes in Cambridge and Somerville?
A. Walking the dog by the river. Listening to live music, especially at the Regatta Bar in Harvard Square and Johnny D’s in Davis Square, or when Scott is playing drums in one of his bands both here and in New York City. And honestly my favorite pastime is enjoying an intimate gathering with my friends over dinner.
