Plymouth 400 Inc. is planning a series of events and programs to honor the historic anniversary. These events will include historical and cultural exhibitions, live televised and web events, multi-day festivals, original arts and entertainment collaborations and educational programming and resources.
Mass. Memories Road Show
When: November 9, 2019
Where: Plymouth Public Library
On Saturday, November 9 from 10 am to 3 pm, anyone with a connection to Plymouth is invited to become a part of Massachusetts history by sharing their photos with the Mass. Memories Road Show, a state-wide digital archive based at UMass Boston.
Opening Ceremony
When: April 24, 2020
Where: Plymouth Memorial Hall
The Opening Ceremony of the Plymouth 400 Commemoration will be a two-hour event of historical content, musical headliners, interpretive readings, choreographed movement, original productions, and visual narratives to create a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.
Official Maritime Salute to the 400th Anniversary
When: June 27, 2020
Where: Plymouth Waterfront
The Official Maritime Salute pays tribute to the Pilgrims’ journey on board the Mayflower from Plymouth, England, to the site of Plymouth Colony in the new world. A regatta of wooden ships, yachts, work boats, official vessels, and pleasure craft will culminate in a traditional New England lobster dinner on the waterfront. Military fanfare and maritime programming will be part of the day’s festivities.
