Giving Tuesday Now is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. Here are 5 of the many charities worthy of our support and generosity.
Giving Tuesday Now
Massachusetts General Hospital
Thanks to a generous supporter, all donations to the Mass General Emergency Response Fund made on Giving Tuesday will be matched up to $1 million. Teams of nurses, doctors, caregivers, researchers, facilities managers, food service providers and thousands of other essential employees are working around the clock to respond to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and need our support.
Cape & Island United Way
The Cape and Islands Community Response Fund will help our most vulnerable families and people access critical information and services like food, shelter and more. 100% of the dollars contributed to this response fund will go directly to local organizations working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak.
American Red Cross
Support all the urgent humanitarian needs of the American Red Cross with a financial gift or scheduled blood donation. Due to social distancing procedures, advanced appointments are required to donate blood.
The Boston Foundation
The COVID-19 Response Fund has been established by a coalition of business, government and philanthropic partners to rapidly deploy flexible resources to organizations in Greater Boston that are working with communities that are disproportionately affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts
The Southcoast Emergency Response Fund has been established by the Community Foundation in partnership with other regional funders, to rapidly attract and deploy resources to organizations in our region that are disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
